ISLAND capture the feeling of discord after the after party in their soft new single ‘Just That Time of the Night’. As the band explain: "Your night is winding down, everything is starting to feel a bit weird. Disconnected from your surroundings and the people around you. It's just that time of the night." The dedicated pace of the single is a sonic slow-dance, that weary beer-soaked sway as you begin to question reality and your life thus far. Permeating through the gentle drums and guitars, the lyrics burst through the desperate searching for meaning, “I thought the world was changing,” as the lead singer mourns. Soon the instrumentation rises up to meet this frustration, isolating the listener in a sphere of rattling percussion and piquing rock guitar notes. As we approach the end of the year, this song seems particularly apt for all those festive parties and those reflective moments where it’s just that time of the night.
