Sister duo VanJess are fast becoming our choice R&B/Soul duo. Having produced some serious fire with Brasstracks on ‘Favorite’, they have teamed up with the ridiculously trendy GoldLink for new smash ‘Through Enough’. Whilst their smooth vocals have all the right nods towards classic 90s R&B, the groovy production and Disclosure-inspired synth work brings ‘Through Enough’ right up to date. The beat, too, is smooth and chilled in a way reminiscent of Mac Miller and Anderson Paak’s banger ‘Dang!’. Unsurprisingly ‘Through Enough’ has already landed a huge sync on Issa Rae’s show for HBO, Insecure, and with a premiere on the trendy Beats1, things are looking promising for VanJess. Keep one eye out for their full EP which is due to drop later this Autumn… -HM
