Following the trend for retro’s sounds and revivals, LA band Drinking Flowers deliver us the perfect post-punk song for post-weekend blues in new single ‘Black Monday’. Full of fuzz and buzzing repetitive hooks, the song is all about breaking away from mundane day jobs and we can totally get the sentiment, whilst also appreciating the band’s great hypnotic treatment. Reminding us of the Joy Division or a more relaxed Sonic Youth, Drinking Flowers have a gorgeous characteristic drone that cannot be shaken.
