Toronto-based singer-songwriter Billianne has returned with her self-assured new single, ‘Enough’. She combines the texture of guitar, piano and lap steel into a beautiful musical bed to accompany her powerful, indulgent vocal performance. Her lyrics are equally compelling: “I started from comparing myself to other musicians (specifically female musicians) who are in my realm and around my age right now.” Billianne says. “I remember I was in a pit of feeling like I needed to be “cooler” and I wouldn’t make it in this industry for various reasons my brain came up with—I’m not pretty enough, I’m too tall, I’m not nice enough, etc. I began this negative self-talk for the first time.” You can catch her live at Brighton’s The Great Escape in May 2025. -Dan Peeke
