Modern shoegaze band green star have released their new single, ‘spiders without eyes’. It’s a stripped-down, hypnotic track that introduces a slow, subtle guitar idea and lets it run. It expands out into a grungy chorus that is filled with tension and dense walls of guitar sound that are at once dingy and beautiful. “This song came from a place of feeling stuck, like being tangled in a web you can’t see clearly — whether that’s a person, a situation, or your own mental loops,” they say. “It’s not about judging it or breaking free with clarity, but more about the strange comfort that can come from staying in it, even when it hurts.” The track is taken from their debut EP, Bleeding Swirls, which is out now. -Dan Peeke
