‘Wave’ is the final track from Briana Jean’s new EP, Elements, a collection of songs inspired not only by the natural forces of earth, water, fire and air, but also the psychological interplay within and between people. That’s most likely why, rather than directly calling out the elements, this Los Angeles songwriter opts for looser terms such as ‘Collide’, ‘The Sun’ and ‘Wave’. All the tracks have been produced by familiar name ROUSSEAU, who has been working with Briana Jean since their first meeting in 2012. Their combined talents create a crisp, cooling electronic-pop sound with subtle R&B influences and in the case of ‘Wave’ a flowing quality. The production seems to move with the natural ebb and flow and the singer’s dusky vocals, the perfect intonation of water. - HT
