The rhetorically titled ‘How Are You Gonna Lose?’ from Bath outfit Bad Sounds is one of those tracks that puts an instant smile on your face, from that first resplendent burst of brass to the ‘70s disco rhythms to the reassuring vocals of Ewan Merrett backed up by his bro Callum. The whole track could be packaged perfectly into the line 'it don’t matter how I’m trying to change [...] ‘cause I still can’t manage to win with you.' As has been suggested before, Bad Sounds music is therapeutic and here we’re encouraged to let go of the idea of winning or losing, just do whatever you want because it doesn’t matter either way!
