There's been an abundance of brilliant but arguably twee psychedelia-tinged pop floating across from France in recent years. However, Parisian post-punks Rendez-Vous are smashing the stereotype with their own unique brand of unapologetically aggressive experimental noise-rock. With only 2 razor-sharp EPs under their belt since their formation back in 2012, 2018 is gearing up to be the rising quintet's most exciting year yet. Brand new single 'Double Zero' is a heart-stopping concoction of wiry guitar slides, brooding bass lines, trashy drums and ominous, shouted vocals. As the the track progresses it's hard to determine the difference between deranged synthesizers and electric guitars that have been run through effects pedals sent straight from outer-space. Living up to their unforgiving sound, the accompanying video to 'Double Zero' isn't quite what you'd call an easy watch, featuring graphic images of blood, guts and raw meat being hacked at with knives.
