MOANING TIRED

A song called 'Tired' by a band called Moaning doesn't exactly sound like the cheeriest affair. However, the latest single from the Sub Pop signees is a euphoric slice of American shoegaze, which see's the trio exploring their dreamier side. In contrast with Moaning's previous post-punk offerings 'Artificial' and 'Don't Go', 'Tired' relies heavily on its hazy synth-based sound. Whilst the Gothic 80s vibes are still present in its heavily chorus-ed bass sound, 'Tired' drifts further towards the 90s and the softer side of British shoegaze channelling the likes of Slowdive and My Bloody Valentine. The accompanying video is an equally dream-like surrealist occasion directed by Ambar Navarro, who explained: "Behind closed doors we experience a series of strange stories: A house catches fire, a giant hamster takes a bath, and a series of objects spontaneously combust. The ‘Tired’ video plays with analog special effects, creating dream-like environments and scenarios.” -HLMX
