Hannah Jadagu dropped her debut album, Aperture, on May 19th, 2023, via Sub Pop. It’s an emotive record, with her lyrics wrapped up in a completely unique blend of diverse influences, with Elliot Smith-style chord progressions sitting beneath her sun-kissed sonic palette and incredible vocals. Her interesting approach to recording her vocals is perhaps best demonstrated on the album’s lead single, ‘What You Did’, which shows her blend of intimate, ‘up-close’ singing with a focus on dense, layered reverb. The end result is something both youthful and modern, yet nostalgic and mature. Hannah Jadagu is heading out on her debut headline tour of the UK and Europe in March 2024, including a stop at The Lexington in London halfway through. -Dan Peeke
