LYNKS USE IT OR LOSE IT

It would appear that whilst Lynks has restrained himself from releasing new music for a little while, there's been plenty going on behind the scenes. Returning with a quintessential new banger, the highly entertaining all-rounder has announced singing to a safe pair of hands in Heavenly Recordings. As its title suggests, 'Use It Or Lose It' is a cut-throat contemplation of ageing. Shedding light on a fixation that Lynks notes to be particularly prevalent in queer circles, he explains: "The gay world is obsessed with youth. Which isn’t surprising – there just isn’t a blueprint of what growing old as a gay man looks like. Like, any film with a gay man over 40 seems to end with them either trapped in a sad, loveless marriage to a woman or dead." As ever, Lynks' good-humoured lyricism and high camp delivery sits atop of a danceable backdrop, this time combining elements of steamy flamenco, indie disco al a Santigold and filthy electronica. -Holly Mullineaux
