London newcomers Y are the latest ones to watch with their debut single 'Why'. Comprised of members of Fat White Family, Meatraffle and Pregoblin, the quintet are off to an exciting start as they sign to Hideous Mink Records and announce their debut EP Y. Their titular single is a track of rotational tension. Anchored by a tightly wound pulse of drum and bass, you’re jostled into unexpected directions as saxophone and cosmic guitar melodies splay out hastily throughout the track. A band of seemingly few words but tempestuous emotion, cries of ‘why?!’ cut through the instrumental for an all-around untameable dance.
