Having won us over with a wonderfully charismatic performance at The Great Escape earlier this year, we're thrilled to be sharing this new one from pop polymath Willow Kayne. Sharing her fears about her place in the often all-consuming music industry, 'Rat Race' is an exuberant exposition of Kayne's motives to exist and continue within it, whilst navigating what is required to be 'successful'. Set over a jumpy instrumental, Kayne's melodic, fast-paced verses give way to a cathartic chorus, which sees her honey-flavoured vocals soar across an impressive range. She playfully says of the song: “I wrote ‘Rat Race’ when I was going through a little crisis; the music business sometimes makes me feel like I am a lottery ticket among millions of others.
