WILLIE J HEALEY DUDE LIKE HIM

We've been singing the praises of London indie National Anthem twice already in the past week, and we'll do it one more time, now that we've spotted a new addition to their ranks in the form of Oxford surf-pop scamp Willie J Healey. Healey has impressed with a string of alluringly rowdy live shows which followed the release of his twinkly debut EP, HD Malibu earlier in the year. He's got Radio 1 on his side, with Huw Stephens a big supporter of 'Dude Like Him', the first track off his forthcoming second short-player Saturday Night Feeling. A typically Healey number, driven along by tincan percussion, sugary garage-pop guitar riffs and his deliciously scatty vocal, 'Dude Like Him' looks set to be the moment everyone sits up and takes notice of their new favourite oddball rocker. - DC
