WILL HYDE DARK UNTIL SEPTEMBER.
Will Hyde continues this year’s winning streak with yet another impressive tune, this time in the form of ‘dark until september.’. As its title suggests, this track brings out the sombre melancholy in Hyde’s style. Elements of catchy folk-pop sit at the heart of the track, but leftfield, almost experimental production choices keep Hyde’s music relevant and astonishingly well-balanced. The start of the track isn’t a million miles away from the likes of The Lumineers and Mumford & Sons, but by the end, deep bass synths and trap drums are blurring the borders between genres. He explains that the track came “during a time in my life when everything was falling apart... this is me looking for love inside myself in a time when all i felt was hopeless & tired.” Be on the lookout for his debut EP, with u in mind, next month. -Dan Peeke
