It's impossible not to fall for Whitney. The Secretly Canadian-signed band - formed from the core of guitarist Max Kakacek (ex-Smith Westerns) and singing drummer Julien Ehrlich (ex-Unknown Mortal Orchestra) - are set to release their debut LP Light Upon The Lake on 3 June and having already charmed us silly with 'No Woman' and 'Golden Days', reveal a final taste of the anticipated full-length. Once again drawing on Neil Young and the Laurel Canyon songwriters, 'No Matter Where We Go', with its suitably heart-warming video, is their most smile-inducing cut to date: Ehrlich's characteristic falsetto spinning the innocent lovers tale, while Kakacek and co. back-up with joyful guitar licks creating the effortlessly infectious Americana outing. With a European tour on the cards, Whitney continue to prove themselves as the most essential indie newcomers of 2016. -G.O'B
