With the dust freshly settled on their exceptional recent single 'Blood Moon', London-based musician Vogues shares two connected new tracks. Explaining, "I see these songs as two sides of the same coin, Tried is the daytime and Trophic Cascades is the night", we'll be taking a closer look on the sunny side. Accompanied by an otherworldly video by Pareys Bean, 'Tried' is an upbeat exercise in acceptance. Culminating in a relatable chorus, Vogues croons 'maybe I could have tried a little harder, maybe I could have been a bit smarter'. Sonically conjuring whiffs of Dirty Projectors, Arthur Russel and Animal Collective circa 2009, 'Tried' playfully combines electronica with alt-pop in a way that feels nostalgic and simultaneously brand new.
