Australian-Brazilian artist Viji has released a beautiful acoustic version of her fantastic single, ‘Sundress In Pink’. The track in its original form is found on her critically acclaimed debut album, So Vanilla, which dropped in 2023 via Speedy Wunderground. Her sound, which is typically defined by a lo-fi take on alt-pop mixed with grunge influences, is light and airy here, with two Fender electric guitars being supported by a deep bass, to create something textured and sonically hypnotic. Her voice is tender and melodic, cutting through the soundscape with poise. On filming the track, she explains that “we got to use the beautiful showroom at Fender. Shooting there was really special, there’s a beautiful stained-glass window in the background and we got to use all of the custom shop guitars. We were like kids in a candy shop!” The acoustic version of ‘Sundress In Pink’ is taken from the deluxe edition of So Vanilla, which is full of remixes and acoustic versions of fan favourites.
