TV DEATH LEASE OF LIFE
Newcastle's TV Death have released their new single ‘Lease of Life’. Their sound is a blend of post-punk and garage rock with undertones of psychedelia is both unique and familiar. It’s heavy and filled with gigantic riffs and energy, but also retains a sense of memorable melody throughout. Frontman Jack Burlison says: “I picked up my guitar, and the riff just spilled out like a breath I didn't know I was holding. The verses echo lyrics from an old demo about the monotony of consumerism and work, an apt reflection of how I had felt. But in the chorus, that weight lifts. Those same words take on a brighter meaning, giving them a new lease of life. It's a song about reclaiming purpose, finding meaning beyond what the world tells you should matter.” ‘Lease of Life’ is taken from the band’s upcoming debut album, Neon Dreamland, which is due for release on August 21st, 2025, via Dogged Sound Records. -Dan Peeke
