TUSKS BE MINE

Fresh off tour with Bears Den, London artist Tusks has barely stopped for a breather before releasing a glorious new track called ‘Be Mine’. This reverb-soaked number spirals between disparate shoegaziness and riotous demands, 'Do you want to be mine? / Do you want to be mine?' Tusks' powerful vocals swivel on the song’s contrasting dynamics, which act to reflect the unpredictable excitement of the early stages of a romantic relationship. As Emily Underhill, aka Tusks, explains: It comes from being in that initial stage of a relationship when you're not sure what the other person is feeling and you're excited but also nervous and I guess feeling a bit vulnerable all in one.” Finishing up at just over two minutes, we love the flash-in-the-pan nature of ‘Be Mine’. It leaves us wanting more and with less than a month until the release of Tusks’ sophomore album, we won’t have long to wait. Look out for Avalanche LP on June 14th. - Hannah Thacker
