This week sees the return of one of Oxford’s very finest - the somewhat incomparable, TTNG. Making their debut on TMR today, new single ‘A Chase Of Sorts’ arrives alongside the announcement of their 3rd full length album Disappointment Island - set for release via the consistently brilliant Sargent House Records. The new cut is a delightfully engaging and interesting 3 minutes of music, with the trio’s trademark complex, spindly guitar lines, and wildly ambitious time signatures standing at the forefront. Brotherly guitar/drum pair Tim & Chris Collis prove once again that they are one of the most gifted instrumental partnerships around right now, with vocalist/bassist Henry Tremain keeping things grounded with some finely executed pop-inflected vocal melodies. Having existed in several incarnations over the past 12 years - finding success and many fans in each, their current evolution pushes what has always made TTNG (formerly This Town Needs Guns) such a superb band. -JC
