‘bone’ is the new single from Trout, written after a move from Liverpool to the South Coast. She has created a track that establishes a raw, unsettling aesthetic from its opening moments. There are hints towards grunge in her distorted guitar lines, but electronic twists and turns keep us on the borderline of modern-day experimentalism. The track “was written after an argument/conversation with someone I really care about, and having the realisation that ‘I might be the problem,’ and consequently reflecting and rethinking my actions, feeling regret and wanting to change.
