Liverpool-based alt-rock newcomers Toy Car have returned with their new track, ‘Fishes’. Their sound is a blend of deep honesty and huge, stadium-sized riffs and hooks. This cut builds tension over chugging guitars during the verses, and then bursts to life during those anthemic, rock n roll choruses. They describe the track as “a confession. It’s someone asking for help. The other character is down to interpretation, but Fishes comes from a point of ‘if people start talking, things can get better.’ It’s a pretty blunt reminder to live life, because we don’t know what’s waiting just around the corner.” The band have dropped their debut album, Cream, which is out now. -Dan Peeke
