Singer, songwriter and Saddle Creek signing Tomberlin made waves in 2018 with her gorgeous debut LP At Weddings. Today the understated artist has returned with 'Wasted' the lead single from her forthcoming Alex G co-produced EP Projections. Grown from a pure-sounding pattern played on acoustic guitar, an off-kilter drum beat pushes the tune along as melodic bass slides in smoothly around the contrasting rhythms. Sitting at the forefront Sarah Beth Tomberlin's vocals are dusky and casual as she delivers the opening lines "I tried to keep it closed, keep it in a locket, ain't no one can stop it, can you tell the difference?" Picking up momentum with the addition of plucked violin and subtle percussion 'Wasted' is a charming little slow-burner that's perfect for a warm summer evening.
