tibia, a rising Stockholm-based duo, have dropped their second single, ‘Mary’s Lifestyle’. The band are demonstrating another side to their indie rock sound, moving away from the garage-flecked snarl of their debut cut and toward something softer and more refined. It’s still very much tibia, though, as their soaring, widescreen guitars and jagged drums provide the perfect backdrop to their trademark dual-lead vocals. “We wrote the song in one go, early morning, no sleep, all the emotions,” they say. “Then we went out for a minute and when we came back in the evening we wanted to make it fly, so the riff came along. The framework was there so we brought in the king in our lives, aka drummer in our band, August and he did what he does best.” Keep an eye out for more from tibia over the next few months. -Dan Peeke
