‘Great British Pig’ is the new single from Brighton-based newcomers The Roebucks. The band have created an interestingly British take on Americana, with the melodic richness and elegant twang of alt-country colliding with a nostalgic blues-rock sensibility. They describe the track as “a bit of an anti-meat song but more of a pro-pig song. Hopefully made less like a preach by the cartoonish words. It was written around the idea of Britain being the 'land of hope and glory'- what's paradise to some is a hell for others.” The trudge of the drums and bass almost feel like a pig wandering through the mud, while the lead guitar’s biting tone wouldn’t feel out of place on Pink Floyd’s Animals.
