SUPERJAZZCLUB OFF
A Ghanian collective that made a huge impact on us just over a year ago with 'MAD', stars-in-the-making SuperJazzClub return with a record deal and their first single of the year 'OFF'. Having found a home with Human Re-Sources, their first outing via the label is a sumptuous blend of moods and styles. Opening with an addictive vocal hook that's sure to fire listeners up, a smooth verse soon takes over, straddling seemingly disparate elements of jazz, soul and even UKG. Described best by the band themselves, “The song is about two ex-partners who ran into each other again. One party is trying to make the other entertain the idea of them getting back together but probably just for one night. The idea for this track came about after returning home from our European tour last year. Without even listening to the song, the title gives the mood of the song away. This was a very conscious decision to get the listener to go bananas when the beat dropped. It’s perfect for the clubs but also for hanging with friends in the living room.” Watch this space for more from SuperJazzClub before they inevitably blow up. -Holly Mullineaux
