Sunflower Bean are back with a brand new track in the shape of 'I Was A Fool'. It is the first music to come from the New York trio, who also announce their signing to new homes Lucky Number (UK/EU) and Mom & Pop (ROW), since 2016's acclaimed Human Ceremony and is a typically dreamy, shoegaze-tinged affair that sways effortlessly along through its three and a half minutes of blissful indie. "'I Was A Fool' is one of those songs that seemingly crept up from nowhere and into our practice space. It was a special moment between the three of us, Julia and I both improvised the lyrics," explains singer/guitarist Nick Kivlen. "It feels like far longer, but it’s been nearly 2 years since we’ve put new music into the world. I think this song is a good example of how we’ve grown as a band, while still staying true to the band that first played together back in high school." The cut also comes alongside news of extensive live dates including support slots with Sleigh Bells and the mighty Wolf Alice. You'd be a fool not to fall again for Sunflower Bean. -G.O'B
