Punctured by creepy gasps, landing with the claggy saturation of condensation settling on a steamy kitchen window, ‘Hot Breath’ has an unsettling core, and bursts with experimentation. It’s the latest to come from Strange Boy - the London-based project of Kieran Brunt and Matt Huxley - and bears hints of ANOHNI and Wild Beasts’ quavering falsetto, with peculiar turns of lyrical phrase all the way. “The smell of your hot breath hovered in my nose,” the song begins, and things don’t get any less disarming as things proceed.
