spill tab’s final track of the year and the final track on her debut EP, Oatmilk, is a catchy piece of bedroom pop. ‘Name’ is the highlight of the EP, and continues to expand her genre-bending style, merging lo-fi sounds and a barrage of effortless pop melodies. The French-Korean artist, real name Claire Chicha, explains: “The idea of giving back a first name is a reference to all the little endearing nicknames you give to someone you're dating in exchange for their real name, and when the relationship ends you basically have to trade those back in for their first name. So being the one to give back his first name basically means being the one to call it quits.” As someone who has worked her way through the music industry, it’s exciting to see spill tab’s first full EP. -Dan Peeke
