Arriving ahead of his new album Sore Loser Needs a Kidney (coming out on bandcamp next week), South London-based musician Sore Loser shares 'Red Sky'. Originally hailing from the North (Manchester to be specific), Sore Loser (aka Adam Brown) is a familiar face in the captial's underground scene, having played in numerous bands over the years before landing in his current outfit Gently Tender. Presumably taking its title from the shepherd's warning, 'Red Sky' is a propulsive piece that serves as a sign of things to come. Crooning over alt-rock guitars and spacey synths, Brown's lyricism is observant and considered as the melodic yet rigorous rhythm section gives the track some serious welly. Accompanied by a simple yet effective video, which highlights the tune's driving nature, 'Red Sky' is an accomplished and memorable release from Sore Loser. -Holly Mullineaux
