Songwriter, sound engineer and Gently Tender guitarist Adam Brown (aka Sore Loser) reveals his thoughtful and accomplished EP Branches. He explains: "Branches consists of four songs inspired by a tree that fell on my house during the pandemic, I guess the theme of the EP is dealing with a sense of insignificance when pitted against nature and history. In a way these songs are all about putting myself in context and leaving the past behind." The EP's second track 'Don't Believe In Ghosts' wistfully croons over bleating synths, spacious acoustic guitar and tight rhythms as it shifts through intriguing chord changes and relatable lyricism. Brown elaborates: "This song is the first one I wrote for this EP, and it kind of set the tone for the whole thing. Its about how bittersweet it feels to unexpectedly hear the music you loved as a teenager again years later, and realise a lot of the people that you enjoyed that music are no longer in your life."
