SKOTT WOLF

Scandinavian newcomer Skott caused a veritable blog meltdown with her debut ‘Porcelain’ a month or so back. Today she 100% establishes herself as the new girl on the block, with ‘Wolf’ - the second track from her upcoming double single release (out 29th July via Chess Club). Never has a mid-chorus key change sounded so right, but on this new single Skott pulls it (and everything else) off with utmost aplomb. Her icy vocals are seamlessly knitted to a gentle syncopated piano line, as its thumping electronic drum pattern gives the track an immediately accessible feel. The whole arrangement and production is flawless; shimmering harp passages and swirling electronic samples included. Having already been given the seal of approval by Lorde (not an everyday occurrence) - Skott could well be the most promising artist to arrive this year, and we're chomping at the bit for more. -JC
