LIST PICK

SEAN NICHOLAS SAVAGE HARMONY

A treasured, unicorn-like presence in the underground pop scene, prolific Canadian songwriter Sean Nicholas Savage releases yet another album for Arbutus Records in Shine. The collection of heartfelt songs consists of idiosyncratic previous List Picks 'Streets of Rage', 'Ain't What It Used To Be' and now 'Harmony', alongside many other special tracks, produced by Mac Demarco (who also snapped this majestic press shot). 'Harmony' is an intimate, downbeat affair that examines Savage's inner struggles and hesitations in life. Set over comforting synth sounds that caress his airy vocals like a warm blanket, there's a sense of devastating beauty about the piece, particularly as an ensemble of celestial backing vocals lift the track at the end. Sit in your feelings and listen to 'Harmony' and the rest of Shine ASAP. -Holly Mullineaux
