SCRIMSHIRE UNFORGOTTEN, UNFORGIVEN (FEAT. NAT BIRCHALL)
London producer Scrimshire and saxophonist Nat Birchall collaborate on a musical gem, 'Unforgotten, Unforgiven'. The poignant single protests the new inhumane immigration policy in the UK. Piano and soft ambient sounds open the track, followed by the sax, bathing you in lavender-scented bliss whilst drums remain organic and sporadic. The soothing melancholia that begins the track gradually reaches boiling point, where the saxophone cries, 'enough is enough'. Scrimshire says, "This is dedicated to the politicians who have forced refugees into life-threatening decisions. Pushing people into the hands of traffickers, into small boats and too many beneath the waves of our seas. Who force the lives of men, women and children into more danger, in the hope of escaping war, poverty and persecution only to meet more cruelty and persecution. It won't be forgotten and it won't be forgiven." He also explains, "The artwork is a depiction of small boats carrying people across seas, those above that make it, and those below who don’t. It also draws from a native American pictograph symbolising forgiveness, but it breaks it in half and flips each half in opposition to each other'.
