A London artist that made quite the impression on us live in 2021 (so much so that we asked him to perform at our Alt Escape showcase in Brighton earlier this year), one to watch Sam Akpro shares the arresting new single ‘Death By Entertainment’. Released via ANTI records, the genre-hopping single currently stands alone, occupying a space between dirgy post-punk and glitchy electronica. Showcasing his versatility as both a musician and a vocalist, the dynamic piece moves through heavier sections of layered guitars and half-shouted vocals, which give way to melodic stripped-back moments that allow Akpro’s restrained singing to shine.
