Taking a decidedly more restrained approach than that of their mind-melting early outings, such as ‘Brain Retrieve’, Slow Dance-signed ensemble Roscoe Roscoe drift through a psychedelic haze on their jelly-like new single ‘Secret Underwater Love’. Comprised of a intricate entanglement of serenely reverbed guitar parts, a gentle bass groove locks in with tingly brushed drums as the occasional effected tambourine punctuates the piece. Sounding something like Toy meets Mazzy Star, with a touch of Jacco Gardner thrown in, ‘Secret Underwater Love’ is a soothing slice of romantically-inclined surrealism in the form of a pleasing indie-pop tune.
