ROMAN LEWIS MINDLESS TOWN

Singing with a gentle, soothing maturity and rich vocal intonations, 17-year-old Londoner Roman Lewis makes a breathtaking debut with ‘Mindless Town’. Reminiscent of fellow modern day troubadours Tamino and Isaac Gracie, it’s evident that Lewis’ songwriting is poured straight from the heart, needing no other format that acoustic guitar and voice, although the moving production by Catherine Marks is a transcendent addition. The whole song moves, sways, and grows with raw emotion as Lewis searches for hope in the darkest of moments, portrayed in seemingly endless metaphors, such as the rather beautiful line, “When nothing seems to glimmer, / you see a sudden spark.” This may be the first song from Roman Lewis, but ‘Mindless Town’ is a strong promise of more to come from this striking young talent. - Hannah Thacker
