‘Heathrow’ is the new single from Swedish-American artist Rhys. She has returned to her musical roots with this one: a languid, gentle fusion of indie and folk, defined by acoustic guitars and her breathy lead vocal. Her gift for melody and thrilling harmony is shown off throughout this track, with the chorus in particular shimmering in its catchiness. “It's about my very first relationship,” she says. “I was 18 and head over heels with this guy. He broke up with me right before he went travelling, I was heartbroken. Sometimes I think about what it'd be like if I ever saw him again, this song is really about feeling embarrassed that someone had to be on the receiving end of my youthful drama.” The new EP from Rhys is called Portland and drops this Autumn. -Dan Peeke
