'Demon Town' is the first preview of Retail Drugs' - the alias of NYC-based artist Jake Brooks - forthcoming album, Factory Reset. The new album will be Retail Drugs' second full-length work of the year, following rECKless dRIVing back in August. 'Demon Town' is a unique tapestry of unrelenting glitch, swollen synths, and vocals that are crushed and moulded into their most unhinged form under heavy layers of distortion. It's a glimpse into the more experimental landscape of Factory Reset, of which Brooks says: "I blacked out when making ‘Demon Town.’ It started with the drum beat. I started screaming over it, distorting the master bus I had it all going into. It felt so strong I just kept all that distortion. It’s a feral track not really about anything. It’s cathartic making music that sounds like this. I let go of all expectations and let the voice within me make the thing.” Factory Reset is due for release on 5 December via Angel Tapes / Fire Talk. -Kayla Sandiford
