RE-TROS PIGS IN THE RIVER

Heroes of the Chinese underground rock scene, Beijing-based Rebuild-ing the Rights of Statues (Re-TROS for short), have unveiled a chilling new electrified post-punk-inspired track 'Pigs In The River'. In a quintessentially Nick Cave-ish evil croak, vocalist and guitarist Hua Dong sings about the unfortunate titular swine that inspired the song title, the strange tale of 16,000 pig corpses that floated down Shanghai’s Huangpu river in 2013. Fuzzy synth bass ascends and descends eerily throughout, occasionally being met by creepy off-beat keys and periods of metallic noise guitar, whilst Huang Jin's experimental drums keep the pace. 'Pigs In The River' is the first offering from Re-TROS's third studio album Before The Applause, which comes out in the UK on the 15th of September. - HLMX
