‘Don’t Look Back’ is the latest single from London four-piece PREP, who have called on Shownu (lead singer of superstar K-Pop band Monsta X) and So!YoON! (of Korean indie band Se So Neon) for this butter-smooth groove. PREP often weave the unease of emotional disruption into their aesthetically calm songs, and ‘Don’t Look Back’ is no exception. If we read between the lines of soft-jazz drums and bluesy guitar riffs, what you’ll find is a sense of gnawing realisation that have been hidden behind split-screens and double meanings. As PREP frontman Tom Havestock summarises - “Jealousy. Looking for hidden meanings. The heavy pause after his name gets mentioned.” If walking away from a bad relationship sounded as good as the silky vocals of Shownu and So!YoON!, or the woozy instrumentations of PREP, it would be a whole lot easier. - Hannah Thacker
