Indie band Portland have returned with their new track, ‘Champain’. Jente Pironet leads the band through a small-scale pop gem that is defined by the simplicity of its acoustic guitar strum and softly sung, thoughtful lyrics. Tobie Speleman’s haunting vibraphone adds a new, uniquely dreamy layer to the rhythm section. The track is “about raising a glass to a happy ending at the end of a dark period. But what if the journey was too intense? What if it was all just too overwhelming?
