Having long followed the progress of Angolan-Portuguese artist Pongo, we're more than happy to spread some love for her romantically-inclined new single 'Doudou'. Bursting with relaxing rhythm guitar work (that strikes bouncily on the offbeat); glittering lead lines jangle like those of fusion heavyweights Khruangbin in places, whilst the occasional inclusion of percussive palm muting adds to the danceable atmosphere. The vocal hooks are airy and uplifting, leaving you in a mood to open both your heart and mind, as Pongo switches seamlessly between languages.
