Melodic noise ensemble Pom Poko have announced their new EP This Is Our House, which they novelly describe as: "both an afterthought and a peek into the future for us". Its opening/lead track 'Enduro Corner' is a math rock-flavoured entanglement of harmonised guitar riffs and soft yet striking lead vocals. Chanelling similar vibes to that of the continually evolving Deerhoof, Pom Poko's clever application of effects gives grittiness every time the piece borders on mellow. Named after a section in "a movie called Free Solo, about a guy climbing a huge mountain without any ropes...", we're banking on 'Enduro Corner' being the start of an equally imposing upward trajectory for the band. -Holly Mullineaux
