Dublin trio Pillow Queens have returned with their new single, ‘Be A Big Girl’. It’s a pummelling track about reclaiming strength, delivered via widescreen textures that layer distorted vocals and distorted guitars above a chugging bass line and a relentlessly driving drum pattern. Their melodies are powerful, yet retain a genuinely memorable catchiness. “I think people expect ‘being a big girl’ to mean keeping your chin up, not making a fuss, and politely ignoring the fact you’re being shoved towards the door,” they say. “For us, it’s the opposite.
