Originally the solo project of Madeline Link, now backed by a full band, PACKS are gearing up to release their second album Crispy Crunchy Nothing next week, today releasing final single 'EC'. More mellow than the previous guitar driven slacker-rock singles, 'EC' is an acoustic and slide guitar number led by Link's distinctive voice and surreal lyricism, with a more stripped back tone that suits the more sombre subject matter: “The unexpected death of a coworker I had never met struck me like a brick wall,” bandleader Madeline Link said. “I had been in charge of packing up all of his electronic hardware and shipping it to him just months before. As I found myself preparing shipping labels for his mother to place on the boxes to send back, a lasting sadness set in…” Crispy Crunchy Nothing is set for release on the 31st of March on joint release from Fire Talk Records and Royal Mountain Records.
