OSCAR BROWNE CUT ME OFF
Former member of the punk band Dead Pretties and a familiar face in South London's growing folk scene, Oscar Browne shares the candid new single 'Cut Me Off'. Released through So Young Records, Browne's earnest vocals search for meaning above a sombre, picked guitar sequence. Emphasised by bold strings and hushed backing vocals, the slow-burner builds towards a catchy refrain, which serves as the single's namesake. Written as a response to the breakdown of a relationship, Browne explains the situation as “When someone close to you begins to accuse you of lying and suddenly cuts you out, without giving you any chance to defend/explain yourself. The song focuses on that frustration and loneliness. The lyrics are all the things I wanted to say but were never heard.” -Holly Mullineaux
