NUHA RUBY RA 6 IN THE MORNING
Unafraid to lay herself bare through music, evocative musician Nuha Ruby Ra has shared a fanatically spooky new single. '6 In The Morning' is a taunting recollection of warehouse party culture as a live-in resident. Landing on a unique sound that sits somewhere between the hair-brained guitar work of The Birthday Party and the witchy sounds of some of Yoko Ono's more experimental works, Nuha Ruby Ra's bold idiosyncrasy is a powerful breath of fresh air. Delivering one of our favourite lyrics of the year so far (maybe even ever) at 2:26, '6 In The Morning' is truthful, abrasive and whimsical at the same time. She explains: "It starts with me walking down the stairs from my bedroom after getting dressed up, the party’s started and the scene we’ve spent a week building has come to life. Do you really live here? A few surprises walk through the door as always. Not always good. The music’s great. 98% of everyone I see I love. I must avoid being punished in a corner. Oh wow. You’re here…” '6 In The Morning' is the third single from Nuha's forthcoming Machine Like Me EP, set for release via Brace Yourself Records on the 17th of March. -Holly Mullineaux
