Cometa, the forthcoming new album from Nick Hakim, is already shaping up to be masterpiece. Closely following last month's lead single 'Happen', 'Vertigo' is a moving and heavily atmospheric new nugget from the LP. Drenched in reverb, simple electronic drums power intricate acoustic guitar work and lo-fi synthesizers as Hakim's smokey vocals ghost the mix. Speaking of trying to stay focussed on someone when it feels like everything is spinning around you, the track masters the juxtaposition between joy and melancholia, resulting in a devastatingly beautiful piece. Providing another thoughtful accompanying video, this time directed by Asli Baykal, the sentiment of the song is echoed by a rotating house built by Vojin Kusic, who created the unique space for his wife so she has the ability to change her view at the flip of a switch.
